HOLY SMOKE MARKS THE RETURN OF BARBECUE TO NORTH MARKET

A North Market vendor famous for its spicy foods has a new partner, also known to bring the smoke but not so much of the fire. Holy Smoke BBQ , operated by Stan Riley of Yoho's (which now goes by Holy Smoke), a long-established barbecue outfit on the North Side.

Owners Art Yoho and Stan Riley bring an almost religious fervor to their products, and a former drive-in surrounded by huge smokers on wheels is their temple. The excellent pulled pork really is pulled from steaming-hot carcasses of specially bred and raised pigs. The pork and beef ribs and chicken also are outstanding. You'll be reluctant to add any of the sauces.
